What is SEO?

Each of the major search engines including Google, Bing, and Yahoo, have the primary set of search results where web pages and other content such as photos, videos, and listings are shown based on what search engine considers most relevant to the general user population. The way to get there is known today as SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

What is SEO

Simply explained, SEO is a set of practices increasing the quantity and quality of the website traffic through organic search engine result.

What goes into SEO?

In order to fully understand what SEO means, let’s break the definition into parts:

    • Quality of traffic. Attracting all the visitors in the world sounds like a fair plan, but if you are not relevant to their preferences they will not be converting. The ideal goal of SEO marketing is to attract visitors who are genuinely interested in your brand.
    • Quantity of traffic. Once your content has reached targeted audiences from the search engine result pages (SERP), spread the word to reach even more traffic.
    • Organic traffic. A significant part of SERP results is paid advertisement. Organic traffic, on the other hand, is not paid for.

How SEO works?

The magic happening behind the relevant links Google is providing you with when you type in the question is simple. Google (or any search engine you are using) developed crawlers that visit websites to gather information about the content on the Internet (and your website). The crawlers bring back all those 0s and 1s to the search engine and create an index figuring out which of the data matches your query based on the ever-changing algorithms.
