Outbound Marketing
What is Outbound Marketing?
Outbound marketing is any promotional effort from companies to customers that initiates the conversation and sends a message out to the diverse audiences. Examples of outbound marketing include more of traditional marketing forms and advertising such as radio ads, print ads, trade shows, outbound sales calls ( AKA ‘cold calls’).
Outbound marketing is the opposite of inbound marketing in which customers find you or your content when they want and need it. Examples of inbound marketing include creating blog posts, ebooks, white papers, email newsletter and other useful content for the designated target audience.
At its core, outbound marketing is harder to track and is less profitable than inbound marketing. Ironically, many organizations still spend as much as 90% of their marketing budgets on outbound marketing.
Organizations looking to improve their sales results and have an overview of their marketing spend are advised to re-allocate their marketing budgets on inbound marketing techniques.
