How can I install Paldesk live chat on my site?

First off, make sure to register at Paldesk or log in with your existing account. Once you’ve done that, proceed with the following steps:

Step 1: Go to Administration > Embeddable elementsWebsite Widget. If you have created and customized multiple chat widgets, select the one you would like to install from the drop-down menu at the top of your General tab.

Step 2: Once you have selected your widget from the list, move on to the Install tab. Here you can copy the widget snippet to your clipboard, as seen in Image 1. Additionally, you can send installation instructions to yourself or your webmaster, or install the widget via plugin, as described in the built-in installation instructions.

Step 3: Now that you have copied the code snippet, go to your website administration and paste it anywhere before the </BODY> tag in your site’s HTML code. Go back to your website and check for the Paldesk widget on your site. It can look something like this, depending on your preferences:

How can I create another chat widget?

Please note you will only be able to create multiple chat widgets if you are on one of our premium plans!

In order to create a new chat widget, go back to Administration > Embeddable elements > Website widget > General and click on the + icon in the upper right corner.

Adding new widget

Image 3. Create a new widget window

Once you have done that, a new window will appear, asking you to customize your new widget. Make sure to edit your new widget and give it a unique, recognizable public name, to help you differentiate between your multiple widgets. Save changes when you’re done and install it on another website.

Please bear in mind you can only install one chat widget per domain. However, you can install a chat widget, an Easy popup, and Feedback widget on the same website.

And that’s how you can install a chat widget on your website, via code snippet or plugin. Although you can access installation instructions in the Install tab, they’re also available in our knowledge base. Remember, if you come across any issues, send us an email to support@paldesk.com or chat with us live.
