How to install Paldesk on a Joomla website?
First thing’s first – make sure to create a Paldesk account here. Once you have done that, proceed with a manual installation.
Manual Installation
For manual installation, please follow these steps.
Step 1: Sign in to your Joomla account.
Step 2: In the Joomla administration panel, go to ‘Extensions’ and mouse-over the ‘Manage’ tab and click on ‘Install’.
Step 3: Add “Install from Web” plugin if you don’t already have it.
In the search box input Paldesk – Live Chat & Helpdesk. You should see the plugin in the list – select it.
Step 4: Select “Directory listing” and new tab should open, there click on the “Download button” on the right side. As seen below:
Step 5: Go back to the first tab and select “Upload package file”. Click on ‘Choose File’ button and upload your file. Plugin will be installed automatically.
Step 6: When the installation is complete, click on ‘Manage’ from the menu on the left side, find the “Paldesk – Live Chat and Helpdesk“ plugin and enable it.
Step 7: Go to the ‘Extensions’ tab and click on ‘Plugins’. In the ‘Search’ bar type in “Paldesk” to search for editable plugins and click on the search result to edit the plugin.
Go to the Install tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and copy the given API key.
Step 9: Return to Joomla clipboard and paste API key. After changes, press ‘Save’.
Step 10: Go to View Site on the bottom of your page (on the left side) or click on ‘My Joomla’ on the top of the page (right side).
Manual Installation
For manual installation, please follow these steps.
Step 1: Sign in to your Joomla account.
Step 2: Download the Paldesk – Live Chat & Helpdesk extension ‘here’ or you can download it directly from the Joomla marketplace.
Step 3: In the Joomla administration panel, go to ‘Extensions’ and mouse-over the ‘Manage’ tab and click on ‘Install’.
Step 4: Select ‘Upload Package File’. Click on ‘Choose File’ button and upload your file. Then click on ‘Upload & Install’
Step 5: When the installation is complete, click on ‘Manage’ from the menu on the left side, find the “Paldesk – Live Chat and Helpdesk“ plugin and enable it.
Step 6: Go to the ‘Extensions’ tab and click on ‘Plugins’. In the ‘Search’ bar type in “Paldesk” to search for editable plugins and click on the search result to edit the plugin.
Step 7: To fill API Key fields, go back to the Paldesk app. Go to Administration > Embeddable elements and select the element you need: Website Widget, Easy Popup and/or Feedback.
Go to the Install tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and copy the given API key.
Step 8: Return to Joomla clipboard and paste API key. After changes, press ‘Save’.
Step 9: Go to View Site on the bottom of your page (on the left side) or click on ‘My Joomla’ on the top of the page (right side).
