Connect Telegram to Paldesk and reply to your customers’ messages via live chat. Once you’ve created your Telegram bot and completed all the necessary steps, your agents will be able to reply to new messages in real time, directly from their Paldesk dashboard. How can I set up a new Telegram channel in Paldesk?
To add a Telegram integration first you will have to create your Telegram bot. Here’s how you can do that:
Creating a Telegram bot
Step 1: First, open Telegram on desktop or your phone. Under Search, type “Botfather” and then open it.
Step 2: Once you have opened “Botfather”, start a conversation. Type “/newbot” to create a new bot.
Step 3: Next, you should name your bot (e.g. your company name) and send the name as a message.

Step 4: Once you have created your own bot, you will receive an API key. Please save it as you will need it to complete the integration of your new bot with the Paldesk app.
How to add Telegram channel to Paldesk
Step 5: Log into Paldesk, go to Administration > Channels > Telegram.
Click on the + (plus) icon to add a new Telegram integration. Enter the username, paste the API key you previously received from Telegram, create a welcome message, and assign the new Telegram channel to a group. Save changes.
Note: Please make sure to enter the username as “@” + bot name. For example, @PalTestBot.

Step 6: Finally, to verify if your integration is working, go back to the Telegram app, search for your bot by name (e.g. PalTestbot). If you can find it and send a message, you’ve successfully added a new channel!

Once you have connected your Telegram bot to your Paldesk account, you can add it to your chat widget. Go to Administration > Embeddable elements > Website widget > Channels tab and select your Telegram bot.

Finally, once you’ve added your Telegram channel to your chat widget, your customers can click on the Telegram icon on your widget to send you a new message from their mobile or desktop app.
What kind of messages can I send?
Now that you know how te send messages you’re probably wondering what kind of messages you can send.
You can send text messages, emojis, and attachments like images or documents. Attachments (pdf, .doc, .docx, .png, .jpeg, .jpg, mp4) will be delivered as links to uploaded images or files. When your agents click on the links, it will either open a new tab or start a download (depending on the file type).
Voice messages and stickers are not supported.
